First partial release of ISSP 2014 "Citizenship II" is now available

Find the publication of the first partial data release of the ISSP 2014 on Citizenship II, including data from 24 countries across the world here. Full documentation is available via the module website. The comprising data release is expected for July/ August 2016.

Third release of ISSP 2012 "Family and Changing Gender Roles IV" now available

The third release of ISSP 2012 "Family and Changing Gender Roles IV" is now available from GESIS Data Archive. It includes data from 40 countries and updates of variables from countries such as South Africa and Iceland.

Passing the landmark of one Million respondents

With the third repetition of the “National Identity” module in 2013, ISSP surveys have interviewed a total of 1,028,677 persons, thus passing the mark of one Million respondents worldwide.


Next General Meeting

The next annual meeting of the ISSP members will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from 30th of April to 3rd of May 2017.


Upcoming modules

The following modules are currently being conducted by the ISSP:

2015: Work Orientations IV, a partial replication of the modules in 1989, 1997, 2005. The convener of the drafting group is Germany. 

2016: Role of Government V, a partial replication of the modules in 1985, 1990, 1996, 2006. The convener of the drafting group is Sweden. 

The following module is being developed by the ISSP: 

2017: Social Networks and Social Resources, a new module based on Social Networks modules in 1986, 2001. The convener of the drafting group is Switzerland. 

2018: Religion IV, a partial replication of the modules in 1991, 1998, and 2008. The convener of the drafting group is USA.


New member

The ISSP General Assembly voted COMPASS, New Zealand as new member.
