Applying for membership

Membership to the ISSP is institutional and by country. One or more than one institute in a country can co-operate on ISSP research (cf. France and Spain).

According to current ISSP regulations, a maximum of three new members can be accepted per year.

ISSP members agree to conduct ISSP surveys in accordance with fixed ISSP requirements.

A standard list of questions and a description of sample design have to be answered by any country (institute) interested in joining the ISSP.

Applications should contain:

  • full answers to the standard questions and description of sample design. Please download here .
  • a letter of application, details and examples of research carried out by the organisation(s)
  • an organisation profile for each institute applying.
